Shri Sadasiba Tripathy, Chief Minster of Orissa, Freedom Fighter of Orissa
Shri Sadasiba Tripathy, the ex-Chief Minister of Orissa was born on 21st April 1910 to father Lingaraj Tripathy. Being a teacher, he kept interest in social service and did several socio upliftment activities for the tribes of Koraput district. He started working as a teacher in the year 1929 and in the 1936 joined to Congress. In the year 1941 he imprisoned due to his individual Satyagrah movement. Shri Sadasiba Tripathy became Chief Minister of Orissa from 21st February 1965 to 8th March 1967.

  • Shri Sadasiba Tripathy elected several times for Orissa Legislative from Nabarangpur and Umarkot region in the years 1937, 1946, 1952, 1957, 1961 and 1967.
  • He participated in Quit India Movement from 1943 to 1945.
  • He became Secretary for Orissa Bhoodan Yagan Samiti fro 1958 to 1961 and was a lifetime member also.
  • He became a member of A.I.C.C. and Executive Member of P.C.C. from the year 1938 to 1955.
  • He was an expert Revenue Administrator who operated Orissa Zamindari Abolitio and Land Reforms Bill for about twelve years.
  • Shri Sadasiba Tripathy died on 9th of September 1980 at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
