the post of Deputy Superintending Epigraphist (Dravidian Inscription) for
Archaeological Survey of India. Pay scale is Rs. 15,600 to 39,100 with 5400

It is a permanent (Group-A gazette), non-ministerial and
central govt. job. Place of posting or headquarter will be at Mysore, Office of
the Director (Epigraphy), ASI, Southern Region.
Educational qualification:
i) Applicant must be a Masters Degree in Tamil or Telugu or
Malayalam or Kannada with ancient Indian History as subject in Bachelor’s
Degree (or) Masters Degree in History with Ancient History as a subject and
Tamil or Telugu or Malayalam or Kannada as a subject in Bachelor’s Degree from
a recognized University or Institute.
ii) Doctorate degree in any of the above subject.
Experience:
At least five years working experience in
copying, deciphering and editing of inscription in the concerned discipline.
