Ravan burning celebration at Amritsar Joda Phatak (near Choura Bazaar) where a
train runs over more than 100 people. On the spot, more than 61 were dead and more
than 50 were severely injured and rushed to hospitals immediately.
On the incident spot, more than thousand people were celebrating Ravan effigy ceremony. And just 20 second after the firing Ravan, the train running from Jalandhar to Amritsar crushed hundreds of people within some seconds.

Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate Amritsar Rajesh Sharma said 50 bodies have been found and at least 50 injured have been admitted to a government hospital.Extremely saddened by the train accident in Amritsar.
