Guwahati: Assam remained in the grip of floods with loss of 119 lives as reported on Thursday. A total of 28.32 lakh people have been affected in 26 out of 33 districts.

As per Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) out of 119 lossed lives, 93 died in flood and 26 due to landslides. The district administrations have set up 456 relief camps in 29 districts, where 47,213 have taken shelter.
In Kaziranga National Park 123 animals have died and 150 have been rescued, said ASDMA.
Assam is concurrently facing Covid-19, flood, erosion, storm, landslides and the Baghjan gas-well fire.
As per Central Water Commission’s report by early morning tomorrow, Brahmaputra river is expected to rise by 6cm compared to early morning today. A sever floor alert given for Paltan Bazaar, Brahmaputra region.
