Memorandum for the establishment of Airport at Berhampur & for rapid industrialization in Ganjam district submitted


Today (On 11/12/2010) a memorandum was submitted for the establishment of an Airport at the nerve centre of South Odisha I.e. Berhampur and for rapid industrialization in Ganjam district to DM & Collector Ganjam at his office in Chatrapur.

Through him Memos have also submitted to Chief Secretary, 5T Secretary, Industry & Transport Secretary, government of Odisha and the Chief Advisor to the CMO.

Members of Odisha Development Forum, Ganjam Chamber of Commerce, Ganjam Development Forum, Forum for Ganjam, Bahumukhi Samaj Mangal O Sanskrutika Kendra, Keshariya Bahini, Progressive Utkal Samaj, Ganjam Bar Association, SriMaa Unnayan Parishad, NIST and other college students & Ex-students organised a huge bike rally in Berhampur and  Chatrapur to force the Establisment of Berhampur Airport at the earliest.

The rally started from Khaspa Sahi (Gopinath Mandir), Berhampur and passed through Badbazar, Sanbazar, Girimarket, One-way Traffic Road, Old Bus Stand, Khallikot College, Tatabench, Kamapalli, Court Peta, Engineering School and finally reached Chhatrapur.

After creating public awareness at Chhatrapur town the members met with District Collector to submit the Memo.

After discussion with members Ganjam district Collector said the complet picture of the establishment of Berhampur Airport will be clear with in a month or two, and he promised to inform the public about the developments time to time.

Ram Prasad Tripathi of Odisha Development Forum, Mrs. Babita Patra, Swarajya Sahu, Tuna Maharana, Laxmi Narayan Padhi, B Someshwar Rao, E Shiv Prasad Rao, VS Basana, Suresh Kumar, Manas Ranjan Patra, Saroj Patnaik, Rajendra Panda, Rabi Kumar Gupta, Shiv Prasad Mishra , Sudhanshu Panda, Sudhir Raut, J Suresh, V Santosh, Balakrishna Samantaraya, Madhu Bhai, Deepak Kumar, Sudam Bhai, Prakash Pradhan, V Nehal, Banamali Ajay, Dr. Chakradhar Raju, Manoranjan Panda and other senior members led the bike rally.

Prominent Oriya  Dr. Pranab Pani, Bangalore and Mumbai Utkal Samaj President Bhagwan Panda guided and extended their support for this cause.
